And I think he only got more ideas about hockey after we sat down to watch the Whalers play the Spitfires. The game was good, started off with decent hockey play but soon escalated to some massive fights in the second period. Braden had some questions but seemed to think it was exciting. I was a bit bothered by the fighting, not so much the pushing around but when gloves and helmets come off and they start bludgeoning in the head that I can do without!
We didn't stay for the third period, it was a complete blowout, Whalers 6 and Spitfires 1. It was 9pm, the kids were tired and the weather was terrible so it wasn't worth staying out any later. It took us an entire hour to drive home when it usually takes 25 minutes!
But a great day overall and I'm very proud of how much Braden is learning and happy that he has found a sport he loves!
Braden also played in a hockey tournament and received this medal which he was so excited about, it still hangs on his bedroom door!
