We spent a little bit of time at the lake and then showered early so we could drive into Traverse City. We went to Pirate's Cove to play putt putt golf for the first time. It was memorable for me since as a kid I vacationed in Traverse City every summer and we always went to Pirates Cove and then Pizza Hut which was next to it! There is no longer a Pizza Hut but Pirate's Cove hasn't changed!
We were on Hole 3 and I was showing Braden how to line up his feet and angle his body. I took two steps back expecting him to putt the ball but he saw there was a hill on the green and took a full swing knocking me square in the forehead with his complete follow through. It hurt a lot and immediately swelled up into a nice lump! I was fairly angry at first and had quite a headache but two holes later it was all very funny and would've been a great movie scene!
Braden loved putt putt and was really good at it. Addie wasn't bad either but didn't have much interest so she and I took turns playing. Braden ended the game with two hole in ones and Brian had one hole in one. Addie and I didn't get much less than a Par 3!
After golf we went to Red Mesa Grill, a mexican restaurant just down the road. Kids got their tacos that they love so much and we got margaritas. I got mine frozen so I could ice my swollen forehead!
We ended the night with a trip to the grocery store and the kids picked out chocolate covered frozen bananas for dessert.
