We are having our first week long summer vacation as a family. In years past we have always just spent long weekends at either cottage (Torch Lake or Caseville) and that was just fine. With little kids it wasn't as fun and sometimes more exhausting to be on vacation for too long. And often Brian would return to work and I'd stay at the cottages longer but that wasn't a real family vacation.
This summer we thought it was time and we were right, its been incredibly fun and surprisingly relaxing!
We arrived late Saturday evening and got the car unpacked while the kids ran around outside. Braden chose our dinner that evening and he opted for fried chicken, biscuits and beans. The kids went with Brian to pick up the carryout and I enjoyed a few minutes of silence!
