Another great sunny, warm day that was spent by the lake. Later that day when we came in for a movie there was a duck wandering the porch area looking for bird seed on the ground. I told the kids we should feed the duck the old biscuits from Sat dinner. So we came out with the biscuits and the duck ate them right out of the kids hands!
That night we decided on Pearls (Cajun/Creole) for dinner. Although Brian and I have been there many times the kids have never gone there. They were enthralled by the decorations and we had a great waitress who was a grandmother and very patient.
They both ordered Sprite for the first time. They've been asking for pop for a few weeks now and I told them not until vacation. They held me to my promise! And they actually didn't have Sprite but a local beverage company's version of Sprite called Sparkle Up. I don't even like Sprite but this stuff was very good. Braden really liked it and Addie did her typical thing which is order a juice or pop and not drink it, then give it to Braden. She does it every restaurant we go to. She likes the idea of ordering something she doesn't get at home but she doesn't like the taste so she ends up drinking all my water!
When Brian and I got our wine, the kids asked if that was our adult Sprite and what was I to say but Yes! Addie ordered pan fried catfish, she's such an adventurous eater. Braden ordered chicken tenders, he sticks to what he knows. They both enjoyed their food and insisted they take their picture with the dragon decor on the wall. They were given some Mardi Gras beads when they left and were thrilled.
