Recently, the kids spent the weekend at Nanie and Grampa's house. She wrote this story about her errands with the kids.
I ran errands with the kids today. It went well. We did the pop cans and beer bottles. Both of them were able to put them in the machines and then we went in the back of the machines to see where they go.
We had lunch with grandpa Bob at Findleys which was nice. I had to make a return to TJMaxx and they went with me. I was looking at the jewelry counter for a necklace to go with a dress I am wearing to two weddings.
Braden saw all the jewelry in the display and he yelled so loud that he HAD TO GET A BEAUTIFUL NECKLACE FOR HIS MOMMA BECAUSE HE LOVES HER SO MUCH. Then he said his momma gave him a great birthday. So he thinks the necklace I bought is for you so I figure you can tell him that I am going to borrow it for a special occasion. Then we were working our way through the store to look at the toys and we passed the unique wine glasses. I stopped to look and I told him about the one that said Best Mom and he said he had to buy that for his mom too.
After we get in the car he is talking about his purchases and he said "oh, I wanted to get something for my daddy too". When we were in Meijer he saw a display of gatorade in the center aisle and he got so excited because his dad LOVES gatorade. So he got a bottle for his dad.
Braden drank a bottle of gatorade too and then we had to stop the car three times for him to pee on the grass, ha ha.
Oh yeah, also we were eating at Findley's and the waitress was very cute and in her 20's. She had dark hair with a longish pony tail up high on her head..she also had bangs with longer pieces along the front of her ears. Braden told me that she has Strawberry Shortcake hair. I believe he meant the style. I said that was nice but he kept talking about it and he wanted me to tell her that. I told him he could tell her but he wanted me to do it. So I told him I would tell her next time she came to the table but I kept forgetting to do it. He reminded me but I forgot again. Then as we were leaving he told me I didn't tell her about her hair so I told the person at the check out what Braden wanted her to know and he said he would tell her. Braden was satisfied.
Yesterday Addie was on the toilet and I was standing there. She peed and I asked her if she needed wiped and she said no she was going to make a poo. She did and I said do you want me to wipe and she said, no, I'm going to make a boy poo now. Then she said, see, that's you and that's me and now I'm making a boy poo. Then she said, there's a family in my bottom.
All four of us were eating dinner together which is very rare, we were talking about storms since Addie says she is scared of them. We like to talk about what they are and how the sounds are scary but why they happen. Braden pipes in with there's a book at my school about it, its about canadoes. Brian and I didn't do a good job not laughing so we told him we were laughing with him not at him, and said that they word is tornados and he said yes, canadoes so he was unaware that he's even saying it wrong. It was probably a lot funnier to us in the moment but its cute nonetheless.
Addison also had a funny moment one night when she came in to my room and woke me up to tell me that her "moles were leaking" In my groggy sleep I had no idea what she was talking about except she was holding her leg so we went to the bathroom where I could see and that is when I figured out she meant that her mosquito bites were bleeding since she had scratched them while she was asleep. She really likes my moles so she calls her mosquito bites moles and leaking was her reference to bleeding because they were indeed leaking!
The kids have a lot of funny mispronunciations and I enjoy hearing them so I'm always a bit sad when they start saying the word correctly. The latest words are pretendering (Addie), Badonalds for McDonalds (both kids), injury for energy (Braden), belax = relax (both kids), and buitar for guitar (both kids).
Addie is a fashion girl, she is very specific about what she wears and what you call it. She wore her pink bathing suit to the pool and I called it a princess suit and Addie told me it wasn't that it is a flower suit.
Later, she wore the black velour pants and the zebra skirted top. She asked me if I liked her zebra tutu. She says it libra though instead of zebra.
Recently I was in the basement with the kids playing and Addie came over to me with the play medical tweezers, she said Mom I need to fix your eyebrows. Wow, apparently she pays a lot of attention to me in the bathroom. She is very into makeup and even has developed her own makeup face!!
