Addie's Accident

In May, Addie was traveling with Grampa, Nanie, and Gma up to Torch Lake. Brian and Braden were having a special weekend at home and I was out of town.

As they were driving a deer ran out from the passenger side and they hit it going 70mph. There was a huge noise and the windshield cracked. Both front airbags deployed, spilling coffee all over Nanie. No one was hurt, Gma was a bit upset but Addie was quiet and calm the entire time!

They called 911 and a tow truck and Dad and Gma rode in the tow truck to Mt.Pleasant. Nanie and Addie went in the police car to a Meijer in Mt. Pleasant. My mom called Aunt Heather to ask if she'd pick them up with their van at the Mt Pleasant Meijer. Addie overheard this and said to Gma that they should drop them off at the Bounce zone because it would be fun and Gma, there are chairs for you to sit on and watch me!

Addie talked nonstop to the policeman during the ride, she told him she was three and help up her fingers to identify this. She told him that the car hit the deer and it was dead and the policeman should go get it when he's done driving them. She said that when they hit the deer, Nanie screamed and Grampa said a rude word. She also told him that they were going to switch cars and then go up north to the lake. That part didn't happen since there was too much stuff and too many people to fit in a small Saturn.

At least we know Addie can handle herself well in a crisis and since that accident she is always talking about how they hit a deer. She acts it out with her animals and dolls with their cars, its quite funny.
