July Trip to Torch Lake

It was a long trip up north, Addie got a fever along the way and started crying a lot. That bothered Braden and he reached over and pulled her hair. She cried more and ended up puking which I expertly reached back and caught in a plastic bag while Brian continued driving. We stopped at a rest stop and got Addison some ibuprofen and continued on. Addison fell asleep so the rest of the trip was better.

The kids loved Torch Lake and the first part of the week was very warm so playing in the sand and swimming was pretty much what we did all day. The kids loved going for paddleboat rides. There were a couple days that were cooler and rainy. We did some coloring, games and playdough indoors. We also went to a nearby farm and saw the animals, ate hotdogs and enjoyed the playground.

The weather warmed up on the second weekend and we took the kids cherry picking. Braden loved it and ate so many cherries that he was a bit sick later that evening. Addison enjoyed herself too, didn’t pick or eat many cherries but ran around diving in the long grass. We also took a trip to Brownwood’s Farm and the kids picked out some candy. Then we went to pet the animals and see the baby bunnies that had just been born. Addie talked to all the animals of course, pet a very noisy goat, and let a rabbit lick the melted candy off her fingers. Braden got stung by a bee but handled it very bravely and since it was his third time being stung we are sure now that he is not allergic, thank goodness.
